Activities at PCE

Activities

Student Participation:

  • Students in grade 3 participate in the annual Benton County 3rd Grade Spelling Bee.
  • Students in grades 4-6 participate annually in the Scripps Howard Spelling Bee.
  • Students in grades 5-6 can participate in choir.
  • Students in grades 5-6 can participate in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading.
  • Students in grade 6 can participate in band.
  • Students in grades 6 are represented on the Student Council.
  • Students in grades K-6 can participate in the Explore and More Program. This after-school program provides homework assistance with math and reading activities. Students in grades 3-6 who experience difficulty in their studies attend Study Table after school.

 

In addition, Prairie Crossing provides activities and programs for academic, social and emotional development.

Student Recognition:

  • Students in K-6 are honored for good/perfect attendance each nine-week grading period.
  • Students in K-6 are honored at the end of the year for performance on the President’s Physical Fitness Test.
  • Students are recognized for academic achievement every nine weeks at our community circle, PTO, and in the Friday Bulletin.
  • Students are recognized for math achievement beyond the classroom with the Principal’s Math Wall of Fame.
  • Students are recognized as Distinguished Artists (25 students per grading period) and have their artwork displayed locally and in Lafayette.
  • Students at the end of the year are recognized for academic and fine arts achievement.
